HAPPY NEW YEAR and a brief update on January!!!

 So everybody I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year 🎆🎊🎈 and give you all a brief update on next year!!!! 

Through Stage 32 I was able to send Jenean Jeffries of Paramount + and Showtime fame my script and series Bible!!! Stage 32 said that they will set up a 30 minute phone call to discuss the script etc!!!

Also, on January 15 I am starting preproduction on HG3 so that we can shoot in March and have a finished product by Summer!!!! 

Finally, the trailer for HG2 will be shown on January 6th through Wildsound TV. They’re also making a trailer for HG3 to be shown on that day so even I will be surprised!!! The laurels are below.

I could tell you more but I’ll wait until next year to inform you!!! Until tomorrow lol 😂 I am wishing you all a safe and fun New Year!!! CHEERS 🥂

NYC Filmmaker & Artist Holiday Mixer 2023

 So, Doug Schneider who is an actor-writer-filmmaker organized a networking event at Tito Murphy's in NYC. There was a beautiful actress (that I took a pic of) introduced me to him at the event which I rsvp through Facebook group so before last night I had never met him. I have his card plus photo with QR code for IMDb page below! My producer friend, Spock, hipped me to the event which was more of a party than a true networking. I had fun and met a lot of people but the only reason I say that it wasn't a true networking is because very few people had cards or networking contact information, so, I passed out the rest of my cards but got very few back. 

Something that was interesting about the event were the people who actually showed up!!! Andy Troy, who throws major rooftop parties in NYC and has a strong connection with the comedy circuit in the city, was one of the first people I spotted at the event. I actually snapped a pic of him, and we did shots of fireball before the night was over. I also met people who knew Spock's less illustrious past like radiant redhead, Monica C. Trombley, who is a freelance film producer and licensed attorney. 

Before I ran out of cards, I gave my final card to an actor from CT named Peter Rosapina! Everything for a reason, and Peter was a delight! I'll take a pic of his card and post it so if you're interested in casting an actor with his look in that area... He's your man!!!

My Interview With The SIFF About The Script THE CHOICE!!!

 I will make this short and provide a link to the interview. HB Gibson provided the promo pic that is seen in the interview as well as on an earlier post in this blog. The Swedes asked questions that seem to stem from cultural and religious differences/views that make me wonder if the comical nature of the script was overshadowed by the religious precedence... So, I'll leave it up to you (the reader) to see if my somewhat liberal religious view were conveyed clearly. Hopefully, this interview will spark interest in the script and some of the ideas it comically presented!

Update on Next Year!!!

 So, as previously stated, I have two projects that I will prepare for next year!!! The first will be my TV pilot which goes into preproduction on January 15th and is tentatively scheduled for production on March 11th! The other project is the feature The Choice which is slated for the fall!

The SIFF nomination for Best Director for Human Game 2 will reveal the winner in a few days so I’ll keep you posted!! They’re also posting the interview I did with them about The Choice soon so I’ll have even more info for you around then!!!

There’s one more networking event at the beginning of December that I’ll attend so pictures will be posted within two weeks.

Human Game 3 and The Choice are my next two projects to film!

 As some of you know I have recently decided that next year I’ll film again. These two scripts have been winning awards since the beginning of the pandemic but were delayed. Below is the link to Human Game 3’s GoFundMe page which is a TV pilot. The GoFundMe site has been up for a year but I stopped pushing it when setbacks prevented our original schedule. If we get funding now we should be able to film it in March! November 14th Mixer at The Globe

 I am not going to mince words with this post! Besides meeting some potential allies in the industry I had the Great opportunity to meet in person someone who I had worked with on several zoom readings and his name is Allen Z. Verne aka Bones 🦴!!!! Spock (Brian M. Wixson) had the chance to meet him as well!!

Some of the people who left an impression I had the chance to meet before like producer Caroline who I took a selfie with using her special phone. Potential new allies came in the form of set paramedic Justin Tsai, filmmakers Shawn O’Meara and Derek Garcia… Also screenwriter Grace (who I think would be a great actress), and indie multi hyphenate Abwonuno!!!

Laura Marie Wixson’s and Steve Yank’s Halloween 🎃 Gifts

 So Spock aka Brian M. Wixson’s wife Laura has an Etsy store where she sells hand woven (knitted) gifts like blankets and scarves BUT she also knits 🧶 miniature items. Spock said that she wanted to give me a present for all the comments and support I gave her on social media sites so I freaked out!!! What could she be giving me???? It so happened that Spock was on his way to a fundraiser and wanted to drop it off. I freaked again!!! Over joyed with anticipation I greeted Spock who was already late and noticed something on his fingers… A DOORKNOB COZY????? LOL!!!! Apparently, she had an extra one… I didn’t even know that people made or needed those especially one with a Googly eye 👁 in the center!!! Well, it’s PERFECT for Halloween 👻 and I never had one before so this is clearly a scary good first!!! There’s a picture of Spock about to drive away as I’m holding it!!! Spock did say that some people with disabilities actually find doorknob cozies helpful… you learn something new everyday!!!! Thanks, Laura!!!! I Love It!!!

Also, Steve Yank just finished his second music video for his horror short sequel, The Towen 2, with the song ROCK STORM!!! Halloween has been giving me some cool vibes!

 Well good news!!! The Towen 2 not only got selected for The Cult Film Festival in England but also became an award winner!!! I’ll inform everyone in the nyc area if it’ll be in The Psychedelic Film Festival this month as well 

Also, HG3 just got selected as a Semifinalist for The Palermofest and I’ll find out if it is an award winner by November 18th  😉

HUMAN GAME IS PUSHING FORWARD!!!

 About 15 years ago, I created (with the inspiration of E. Vincent Burrows) a story about an African American serial killer because it wasn't seen or done before on TV. Well, the storyline progressed, and I filmed two of the scripts plus wrote a stranger/standalone script in the series that has gained some accolades! Below are several photos of its movement through the ranks. Not pictured is the ranking (which is 49% on Coverfly) of the script with the series Bible through The Titan Awards.

Just for fun, I will include the first concept short for the series which shows E. Vincent Burrows in the title role and H.B. Gibson as the Jamaican professor. FYI - H.B. Gibson later replaced E. as the title character in Human Game 2!

The BAFF and Stage 32 Animation Competition

 So I entered The Big Apple Film Festival’s Agents and Managers Lab again this year with my script *BEEP*!!! I had some success with The Choice in last Fall’s competition but it was cut short by the writers strike. If you check my older posts you can see some of the progress that was made before the strike. I am hoping that they resolve these issues before the end of the year so whatever comes of The BAFF this year will be productive (if I even get into the lab)!!!

Also, my sci-fi script, The Lepidopteran, was entered into the Stage 32 Animation Competition! I hope that people/readers of it will check out the artwork for the script in older posts by typing in the search box in the web version of my blog. If curious just type Lepidopteran and most of the articles/posts should pop up! I hope you and anyone interested in the script enjoy the art as much as the script. It would be awesome as anime!!! Below is one of my favorite pieces!

Revisiting The PACT

 About 10 years ago, I wrote and directed a short film that was to be an hour long pilot. It’s only 20 minutes but based on an hour long script. It’s about an actual group of mobile health care workers who I had contact with in the early 2000s. Amazingly, it cost only $2000 to make and was shot in just a few locations. It placed in the Semifinals of Fade In Online as well as showing in several festivals!!! Below is the trailer and short which can be found on YouTube!!!

Afterwards There Are Rainbows 🌈

 I wasn’t expecting much today but Life is full of Love and surprises! 

First, I got a notification from FilmFreeway that The Towen 2 got accepted into The Cult Film Festival in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 so I began notifying the cast and crew of their good news!

Next, I checked my and my mom’s blogs. Lo and behold, my mom’s blog had reached the 4000 mark (which is GREAT seeing that she has not been writing on it for a while) and when I checked my blog it had crossed the 90,000 mark!!! I was shocked and pleased because it has been increasing exponentially for the past few months! 

Finally at the end of the day it stopped raining and when I went out I saw not one but three rainbows 🌈!!! Two were together and the other was towards the right of the house so I snapped a few pictures!!! What makes this extra special is that during the rain 🌧 I was praying for an answer and when the rain came to an end I got it!!!! I won’t tell you what I was praying for but after I got the answer and those rainbows 🌈 appeared I knew GOD had heard my little prayer and was reassuring me that it was going to be okay!!!
