Greetings everyone!!!
A while back we were in danger of closing our production of VIRULENT. We were short several hundred dollars for the location fee for the liquor store in the shoot. Well, miracles do happen... Fernando Cortez hadn't filed for income tax and when he and his wife did they had enough to pay for the rest of the shoot.
Here is irony...
The story in general is about a liquor store robbery gone bad. We filmed on the 19th, 21st, and 23rd of February. On the 19th, mere hours after we filmed and left the store it got robbed!!! The 3 men wore masks just like the ones in our shoot and robbed only on register in the store where there were two. The second untouched register had the most cash (whew!). These three men were on a rampage. They had robbed over 8 liquor stores and gas stations in Union alone. Fortunately, the FBI was on the case and caught the three men the next day. The liquor store owners didn't even find out about it until a week later when they read about the case online. Ironic, I know but I have to give Jim (one of the owners) credit for being a real trooper. He could have called the shoot off but let us film on the following days. Although I admit that when the fake guns came out on the second day of filming he got very quiet and did not watch the robbery scenes (lol). Let's just say that it may have struck to close to home for him but what a trooper nonetheless!!!
So now we are in post-production. The editor and cinematographer, Anice Jee just came back from a birthday trip so hopefully she will jump right to it and put our film together.
I don't know how many hours it will take her to finish but I do know that we will need help.
April is just around the corner and it is tax season again. As a tax write off WHY DON'T YOU DONATE TO SAPIEN FILMS?!? It is simple because there is a donation button on the right hand side of the web version of this blog. You will be helping local talent in front and behind the scenes get recognized for their efforts.
Enough begging (LMAO) lets just do it!!!
Hugs and kisses from your humble servant and director!
