Genuine Real People Casting (HIPA)

I was recently sought out by Melissa who works for Genuine RP Casting due to some of the artwork I made in my youth. I filled out a questionnaire that asked me about my previous acting career. It was funny remembering that stuff from my past. I recall listing my commercials with HBO and Tostidos but could not recall any other gigs because they had the questionnaire marked ASAP so I felt obligated to send it to them pronto!!! It has been a long time since anyone major has wanted to interview me about my artwork so once again I’m gonna cross my fingers and wish for the best!!!
This is a paid gig so put me in your prayers and hopefully I will hear from them soon!!!

SOMBER Showing January 15th, 2020

SOMBER will be showing at Anthology Film Archives ( 2nd Street at 2nd Ave in NYC) on January 15th! The film festival showcase is at 7pm and tickets are just $7 for the entire night!
I am still not sure if I am going but if I can I will LOVE 💕 to see you there... it’s only 4 minutes but it is a good one ☝️ to catch!!!

“Erratic Behavior” by Steve Yank!!!

Steve Yank is the hard rock composer for several of my short films. He recently ventured forth with his own horror film called The Towen. The film should be ready by the Spring of 2020. I have included some pictures of the music 🎶 video in this post.

Big Festivals

I have been busy submitting to the larger festivals. Cinequest, TriBeCa, Slamdance, Sundance and even the glorious Garden State to name a few but the holiday season is here so I have decided to slow down. Some of my old scripts got new blood and I entered into script festivals like Fade In’s True Story/Biopic Competition... I just can’t get rid of the notion that BOY has dramatic potential... so I entered it.
Anyway keep cozy this holiday season and send us some good energy and luck!!!

Somber

I am currently working on my next short film called Somber. We hired a professional dancer to play the role of the girl in the wheelchair. Ashley, our dancer 💃, did a fantastic job! She danced from 6:30 till 8 am on Saturday then performed in a wheelchair until 9 am. Fernando Cortez was the cinematographer and our editing will be done by Anice Jee!!! Steve Yank also provided a touching piece of music to the film called “Perchance to Dance”.
I am still considering whether or not to add a poem to the film. The first poet was too expensive and I have not heard the next poets interpretation of the film and its script although I really like the idea of verbally expressing the dancers desire to move.
Hopefully this will be an inspiration and success! We are still hearing back from the festivals. The next deadline is August 25th for ISF in Los Angeles! Plus there are some more festivals that we are waiting to hear from but their deadlines are later on.

Made the Semifinals of LAFA!!!

 I am so pumped to announce that we are in the semifinals of the Los Angeles Film Awards!!!! They are going to say who the 15 finalists are on the 2nd of August...
Here’s to trusting the Universe and having Faith!!!

Virulent Showing

It was pretty good! No agencies showed up but that was because it was the day after the Fourth of July... Everyone was on vacation. Some of my actors even rearranged their schedule for this Friday so I feel bad that they didn’t make any good contacts. But we did have drinks afterwards and Steve Yank was thrilled 😁 about his award 🥇 from WRPN... I hope that they give out trophies! It would be nice to have one for Direction on the shelf! So let’s push forward!

Awards from WRPN

I received an email from WRPN saying that we were up for some awards of merit. When I check the site it was down. So I emailed them and they said that I didn’t get it for merit but for some thing greater... Excellence!!!
That’s right! We won for Excellence in Direction and Excellence on Original Score!

Spike Lee & Jonathan Sheinberg

Greetings All
Quick note to all that an associate of mine knows someone (purposely unnamed) who works at 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks who’s going to introduce him to Spike Lee. This friend has invited me to come along... What a great opportunity!!! Just to meet politically charged Oscar winner will be fantastic but I know that the real contact will be the person who works for Mr. Lee because I am sure that he is inundated with so many groupies that remembering one out of thousands is difficult. So pray a good and positive connection is made!!! If anyone can get a script to Spike Lee I am sure that they can!
Also, for those of you interested in contacting Jonathan Sheinberg of the Bubble Factory in Beverly Hills simply connect with him on Linked In!!! He checks it out at least two times a month and adds contacts at the same rate. He also reads and replies to messages although he doesn’t have to reply to people who are not established in the industry! He is truly a kind man! And that’ll make you believe!!!

WRPN.TV Short, Tight, and Loose

We got the laurels for WRPN.TVs festival! It is held in Delaware. I believe it is called the WSTL ( Gobal) Film Festival and I am so proud of the cast and crew.
I have been drinking with my neighbors from Columbia because they are returning there on Thursday. So forgive the shortness of this post.

Buying The Artwork For The Lepidopteran

Currently my apartment is too crowded with artwork and I can’t clean it properly or add new furniture so here’s the deal...
The artwork is attached to a series of scripts I created called The Lepidopteran. If you’re interested in acquiring the artwork you must be willing ( in writing) give it temporarily to any producer/production company making the films. The artwork is slowly getting damaged by cigar smoke and improper upkeep and the whole collection deserves a better home... perhaps a gallery, museum or even a warehouse!

The Bubble Factory In Beverly Hills!!!!

 I can’t hold back anymore so hopefully to not jinx myself I waited until now to mention their name. I, through Linked In, had the good fortune to connect with Jonathan Sheinberg who is one of the owners of the Bubble Factory. He is best known for producing such hits as “The Silence of The Lambs “ and “Passenger 57” but he also had a string of less successful films. This aside he is also friends with the legendary Steven Spielberg which means that if he got a good enough script some very powerful people could see it!
Anyhoo... I told him about The PACT placing in the semifinals of Fade-in Online and only costing $2000 to make so he said contact his assistant at a certain number... I did not know that it was a landline so for several months I texted the landline wondering why I wasn’t getting a response. So I contacted Mr. Sheinberg again to which he responded “Call him...” I did and got his email address. I have been sending him stuff ever since... Not too much just The PACT and its script, Virulent, and the three scripts in the series The Lepidopteran! lol 😆
The only thing that is bothering me is the silence (no pun intended) I know that it takes months for them to read scripts but I just wish they could say “ Got it! Thanks.” Or something
Oh well, pray for me... I need some comfort lol

The FYI On My Projects Virulent and The Lepidopteran

Quick but good news! Virulent is under consideration for the prestigious festival Slamdance!!! I was informed by the Submissions Coordinator that the judges would be making their final decisions in December and all you need is an average score to qualify... I can do average... Universe I am praying for average lol 😝!!!!
Also, good news from Hollywood! Zero Gravity Management just made a request for the first script in the series series for The Lepidopteran!!! Amazing but I hope that they realize that I have four scripts in the series!!
Put your mojo and good intentions on the projects... Who knows where this may lead?!!!
