The Zen Cookbook and Boy: A Story Based On True Events!!!

 I wrote two books at the beginning of the millennia that saw a little success but never really took off. So, because they were prototypes for scripts, I rewrote them recently and individually entered them into competitions. I took one script from THE ZEN COOKBOOK AND OTHER BIZARRE SCREENPLAYS called One Man's Choice and modernized it. I renamed it, THE CHOICE, and entered it into The BAFF or Big Apple Film Festival. It won!

The other script called *BEEP* was a cross between the namesake stories of both THE ZEN COOKBOOK and BOY: A STORY BASED ON TRUE EVENTS. BOY was the actual story of what happened with I and my autistic brother before his death and THE ZEN COOKBOOK was a colorful yet existential script based on the same upbringing. *BEEP* won The SIFF (Swedish International Film Festival).

WGA, Towen 2, and Other News

 It seems that my contact out West was correct that the writer’s strike would last longer than Labor Day!!! This sucks but I’d rather get these things done now than suffer pay cuts later on!!!

The Towen 2 has been sent to several festivals… we’ll see!

Also, I didn’t get into the Sundance program this year but I still have certain competitions like The Titan Awards and Macroproject that have my work.

The producer who has been looking at my script BEEP and it’s earlier version The Zen Cookbook is on vacation until September even though he said that he was working on a feature so hopefully all these things will pick up speed in a month or so!!!

The Towen 2, Sundance & Coverfly Competition’s The Titan

 Greetings Everyone!!!

 I have some updates for you that have yet to be resolved. First off, The Towen 2 was completed last Sunday and because I am submitting it to festivals I got the chance to see it before the actors and crew! Steve Yank really put his heart in this one and for a no-budget film it is a psychedelic trip! It’s a mesh of old school tricks with campy flavor… the 70ish special effects are enough to get it into horror festivals… so we’ll submit and see!!!

Also, I submitted The PACT script and trailer to Sundance Episodic Contest back in February and they’re announcing on August 21st who’s going to get in! I’ve already been told by two psychic people that I don’t make it in but I have Faith that GOD supernaturally is in control so I’ll just wait for the outcome.

Finally, I entered 3 different scripts (*BEEP*, HG3 with series Bible, and The Choice) into Industrial Script’s The Titan Awards on Coverfly!!! They’ll be announcing quarter finalists August 31st… my odds are a little better for this one. I only pray that one of them goes further than that and makes it to the end of the competition!!! The rewards are pretty good 👍
