Some placement news for HG3 and other thoughts.
As most of you loyal readers know HG3 (Human Game 3) was postponed until the Fall but that has only encouraged me to push the script more! So, I have been entering it into competitions and festivals. As you have read it has been winning and placing in those competitions. One that I recently occurred was through Coverfly. It was The Filmmatic Short Screenplay Awards where it made the Quarterfinals.
Now, I have other scripts that I have been pushing but finance has been an issue. I am concerned for the production in the Fall as well. I am truly hoping that some studio/production company picks up the script and wants to make it for lack of a better phrase or option.
So, put your prayers and mojos on it and stay frosty in all this heat! LOL

So Dorothy Has A Halberd, A Laser Rifle, & Gladiator Shoes Instead Of Red Slippers...
Not sure, however, she may call her halberd, Toto??? She is very young looking yet amongst "The Eternalness" is one of oldest. The Eternalness are a group of planets composed of kingdoms. The Egyptian, to which I call Dorothy, is a high ranking official and skilled combatant. She has a affinity for the Lepidopteran and like him is extremely playful. The joke is that the Lepidopteran is focused solely and soul(fully) on the Oracle.
I will be looking for someone in their 20s who is athletic and capable combat sequences even if dialog for this character is paramount. See you next year...
Good (with a little will power & a lot hope) Hunting, kids!!!

Dramatic Cold Reading by CINDY CAPRIO
Last April I held a meeting to interview several new DoPs. Amongst them were Jason 'Jay' Glover of RunningManShot and Mike Biaselli of Off On A Tangent Productions. I asked several of my actors to do readings to test the camera work of the DoPs and I was shocked by Cindy Caprio's dramatic reading. It was so very natural and believable in its flow despite the subject matter. If you want to see her in action she plays the rude waitress in The Human Game - Episode 1 and can be seen acting in several indie films from this last Summer.
Here is the test clip of her reading. It can also be found on my YouTube page. Enjoy!

F. Gary Gray's LAW ABIDING CITIZEN "A man who loses everything is capable of anything."
This one looks amazing and it has a cool poster! I hope the plot twist lives up to the excitement of the trailer because I am stoked!!!! It also has two great quotes already from the trailer. One is in the title above and the other is at the end of the trailer just listen to what Gerard Butler says... Awesome!!! A Must See!

The Second Season Of Networking
It has started again and this time I feel better prepared for what is around the corner. February will host a dinner event in NY that will bring together agents, managers, and producers with hopeful actors. If you are interested in attending this event just email me. My associate Edmar Flores is actually speaking that night so it should be interesting to see him cleaned up and talking to the crowd.
Be warned the price of this dinner is on the rise and I not sure if there is a limit to how many people can attend. As one of the attendees I actually would feel better with fewer people especially taking into account that currently there is a 7 to 1 ratio in favor of the actors already slated to show up. However, this business is all about competition and if you can't take the heat get out the freakin' kitchen! LOL!!! So the more the merrier and I will see you at the dinner.
