Planet 🌎 X Studios Mixer!!!

 So Spock aka Brian M. Wixson and Chekhov aka HB Gibson went with me to the mixer for Planet 🌍 X Studios in Brooklyn!!! “No sleep till Brooklyn “lol lol 😂 And it was a BLAST!!! Planet X studios was once a famous carwash where celebrities and all of Brooklyn came to get their sudsy on but in 2019 ( 4 months before the pandemic) was converted into a full range 4k studio!!! 

I got the chance to meet several of the heads of the studio including (from the last mixer) Daron Jenkins. Oddly enough, one of the other heads was named Darin ( with an “I”) and he greeted us at the door! They had just got through filming in the studio with a “cat” is launching his own tequila brand and who also has a project that was on Netflix!! In the middle of the 4k studio was a bed and two wheelchairs lol 😝 that stayed the whole evening because it was a part of the shoot!! 

Giselle Samson was in NYC from the west coast so she showed up as well as the producer, Andrew J. Grell, who had read several of my scripts… He particularly liked *BEEP* and we are going to meet next month to discuss it further! He even toyed with the idea of having me direct it if he were to produce it… fingers crossed 🤞 Angel Martinez jr from the last mixer was there along with comedian Rob Torres both whom are on LinkedIn and Rob is on Instagram!!!

Semifinalist Laurels for The Choice!!!

 Happy to say that The Choice advanced to the Semifinals!!! Hooray 😃!!! I’ll have to wait until May 3rd to find out if it will make it to the Finals!!! Fingers crossed and definitely put your mojo and prayers on it!!!!

 Just today an up and coming filmmaker wanted to advertise my logo on their current project and that’s when I realized that I had put some cool photos of the images but not with the logo!!!! So here it is!

April 4th is my Birthday!!!

 As the year progresses I would like to thank all the people who have supported me and my dreams!!!! You and my Faith in the Creator are what has/have kept me going!!!

Union Public Library is having a Book Fair in May

I will submit my two books for the Union Public Library Book Fair on Monday. They said they would read all books by April 14th to let people know if their books would be accepted. I am already in contact with the woman in charge whose name is Debbie Walter. If you live in or work in Union check out the library's site below for more information!!!!

I’m a Quarter-Finalist in Emerging Screenwriters Competition

 Just found out that I am a quarter-finalist in Emerging Screenwriters Sci-fi and Fantasy Competition for my script THE CHOICE!!!! In a little bit they will announce the Semifinalist so keep your fingers crossed/mojo hot/juju GOOD/ PRAYER ON IT!!!!

THE CHOICE Just Became an Award Winner in The SIFF!!!!

After last night's Super Cool Industry Mixer, this was welcome news in the morning!

 

Daron Jenkins and Some Magical Unicorn Sh!t!!

The article where I talk about the event and why I named this post “Magical Unicorn Sh!t” is below the pictures. ENJOY!!!

 When I told a friend of mine in the industry about my new found connection with Daron Jenkins (of Planetx fame) he said “ You stepped in some magical unicorn shit!!!” I laughed so hard but understood what he meant! Sometimes the connections we make alter our path and help facilitate greater opportunities.

So I and HB Gibson ( of Human Game series) went to the industry mixer in NYC on the 27th of March at The Globe 🌍 which was Daron Jenkins’ event!!! I also invited some of my acquaintances from Stage 32 like screenwriter Angel Luis Martinez jr and Griot Media’s Ralph and Zelda Patterson who both really seemed to enjoy the event! I met as well a slew of industry people from producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, and actors!!! I even met a cpa by the name of Fred Siegel who had wonderful stories about indie filmmaking!!!

Some of the other guests were just different like Liz Rubin whose production company focused solely on climate and documentaries. There was a cinematographer named Jonah Hale who came with a producer named Marcie who both left an impression on me!!

 It was kinda cool 😎 the way I got in! Excited about the upcoming event, I posted it on this blog and tweeted it out to several industry companies. I, also, shared the link with several social media sites and told Daron Jenkins ( of Planetx fame) about what I had done… he liked it and offered me the chance to become a Media Partner at this Monday March 27th event!!!
