Union Public Library is having a Book Fair in May
I will submit my two books for the Union Public Library Book Fair on Monday. They said they would read all books by April 14th to let people know if their books would be accepted. Daron Jenkins and Some Magical Unicorn Sh!t!!
The article where I talk about the event and why I named this post “Magical Unicorn Sh!t” is below the pictures. ENJOY!!!
When I told a friend of mine in the industry about my new found connection with Daron Jenkins (of Planetx fame) he said “ You stepped in some magical unicorn shit!!!” I laughed so hard but understood what he meant! Sometimes the connections we make alter our path and help facilitate greater opportunities.
So I and HB Gibson ( of Human Game series) went to the industry mixer in NYC on the 27th of March at The Globe 🌍 which was Daron Jenkins’ event!!! I also invited some of my acquaintances from Stage 32 like screenwriter Angel Luis Martinez jr and Griot Media’s Ralph and Zelda Patterson who both really seemed to enjoy the event! I met as well a slew of industry people from producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, and actors!!! I even met a cpa by the name of Fred Siegel who had wonderful stories about indie filmmaking!!!
Some of the other guests were just different like Liz Rubin whose production company focused solely on climate and documentaries. There was a cinematographer named Jonah Hale who came with a producer named Marcie who both left an impression on me!!

It was kinda cool 😎 the way I got in! Excited about the upcoming event, I posted it on this blog and tweeted it out to several industry companies. I, also, shared the link with several social media sites and told Daron Jenkins ( of Planetx fame) about what I had done… he liked it and offered me the chance to become a Media Partner at this Monday March 27th event!!! It's Contest Time Again!!!
So, I have been waiting to hear back from agents since November and when the new year came I had to make a decision to keep plugging away. So, I kept in contact with the agents and manager whom I met via Zoom meetings in November while at the end of January I began to contest again primarily with the scripts The Choice and The Lepidopteran (The Lepi. for short). Eyes in the Sky
This one is sort of weird! I love to look at the sky and see images in the clouds. I, recently, saw a five finger hand and to this day don’t know what it means? I often see eyes in the clouds ☁️ that look impressionistic like art but when I saw the hand ✋ something happened! So I have been taking pictures of the sky hoping for a repeat lol 😝

If You're Interested in My Early Work Purchase These Two Books!!!
I wrote two books at the beginning of the millennia that saw a little success but never really took off. So, because they were prototypes for scripts, I rewrote them recently and individually entered them into competitions. I took one script from THE ZEN COOKBOOK AND OTHER BIZARRE SCREENPLAYS called One Man's Choice and modernized it. I renamed it, THE CHOICE, and entered it into The BAFF or Big Apple Film Festival. It won!
The other script called *BEEP* was a cross between the namesake stories of both THE ZEN COOKBOOK and BOY: A STORY BASED ON TRUE EVENTS. BOY was the actual story of what happened with I and my autistic brother before his death and THE ZEN COOKBOOK was a colorful yet existential script based on the same upbringing. *BEEP* won The SIFF (Swedish International Film Festival).

Esther Dillard’s Book and an Update
I bought my cousin's book, and it was a fun/quick read!!! It took me one day to read and I am a slow reader! Full of pictures from her career and life in general, it was insightful as to why Black women go through such extremes to take care of their hair. It even gives a history of how Black hair was regarded and treated in Africa and the Americas with a bibliography to back her facts... she was a professor during her media career. It can be purchased on Amazon as a Kindle or paperback book!
Also, shortly after my zoom reading of THE LEPIDOPTERAN, I noticed some interesting hits on LinkedIn and other social media. Executives at HBO and NBC both checked out my profile on LinkedIn and the hit counter on this page jumped by 100 plus hits... HOORAY! I also got some pleasant inquires on Stage 32 from industry people who read the blog post that the site mailed out to its 750,000 subscribers!!! The agents that had access to the site and script said that they would check it out...
So, we push forward hoping for the best!
