August 31st The Lepidopteran Book Will Be Joined By 4 More Scripts!!!

 At the end of May, my sci-fi dramedy script The Lepidopteran was released as a book on Amazon thanks to the competition from Dizzy Emu Publishing!!!! What I did not know was that they run the competitions back-to-back! So, when I found this out, I immediately entered my scripts The Choice and *BEEP* into the competition! When funds are ready I’ll enter two more scripts and they’ll be The Lepidopteran 2&3!! If you like the first one then you’ll get a kick out of the second and third in the series of 4 scripts in The Lepidopteran series!!! I’m so excited to see my scripts in print as a means of exposure for my company (SAPIEN FILMS) and so that people can see the extent of my writing ability!  I just received my order of jumbo postcards for The Lepidopteran!!! When I took them to the post office I was shocked that it’s a $1.39 per card to mail so I plan to mail half this week and the rest strategically by the end of the month!!!

I still haven’t ordered my copies of the book and apparently no one else has either lol BUT I am proud and please that it’s in physical form!!!

Book news about The Lepidopteran

 A friend of mine (Spock) and his writing partner entered a screenplay competition by publisher Dizzy Emu!!! The competition creates a Kindle and paperback book for Amazon and whoever sells the most books wins a publishing package deal with them! I was informed about the competition 2 days before it closed and believe it or not I entered!!! They took the poster and script from FilmFreeway after I paid submission fee and turned it into a book which should be available on Amazon in 3 days!!! I’m very proud and impressed by what they did and I will put the links to the book up when they give it!!! If I can I’ll show you the cover below!!!

HUMAN GAME COPS SCENE

I am still having difficulties with the editing app but was able to create another scene from sizzle reel script. The cops in the scene are portrayed by Brian M. Wixson aka Spock and Greg Chater!!!

So, I finally got an older version of editing app and it works much better!!! In the scene below, Morgan (played by Adrienne Lauren) confronts the two brothers once they invite her into their home. The two brothers are played by HB Gibson and E Vincent Burrows. 

I should have more segments up in the upcoming weeks with a finished sizzle reel at a much later date.

Some Pieces of The Sizzle Reel and an Apology

I had a few issues with actors and their schedules... Then I got a video editor app that had a lot of bugs even though it was the "Master Edition" of the app. So, I tried to piece together some clips from the .mov files that were shot and below with some effects that worked and other's that failed this is what I've got so far. 

When I get a proper editor, I'll redo these clips and edit the whole sizzle reel together. Below are some of the shots we got with the actors who were available. FYI - I had to use a skeleton crew because of people's schedule so the original crew was sacrificed due to necessity. I sincerely apologize!

VIP News and HBD 🎁 to Your’s Truly!!!

 So last week, I informed some members of HG3 that the  VIP at Paramount/Showtime looked over the pitch deck and said it was “awesome”!!!! This is very encouraging because she’s the one who said that my script was “smart” and gave me a list of streaming companies to send it to!!! She also said that she would keep an “ear out” for what the studios are looking for so I am excited about what the future holds!

I am sharing this news on my birthday to keep hopes up and to tell you to aim higher… What can it hurt to try!!!

Without Revealing Too Much

 So, we ran into some minor difficulties with the filming of the sizzle reel. Certain actors were going to leave early on the first shoot date and others were going to be late on that very date, so, I have decided to film in the future on the weekends because more people seem to be free on those dates. Our main starlet may go ghost though because she is in line to film in the country of Georgia (Europe) in the near future.

That being said we covered some of the early ground for the actual filming of the series HUMAN GAME!!! Below are some shots of "rehearsal" for the real thing!!! I can't wait for everything to clear... All the people to align... And all the pieces to fall into place!!!

Stay positive! I know that I am trying!! Also, my contact with the VIP at Paramount/Showtime is looking over the pitch deck of which she helped facilitate. Hopefully, I'll hear GOOD NEWS from her soon!!!

SCRIPT TRAILER: Human Game 3: The Revelation, by Nathan Waire

So Wildsound did this trailer for my script HG3. They didn't read the script just repeated the logline with a still image, so the characters don't match those in the script except the Morgan character who looks surprisingly like the actress Adrienne Lauren who is set to play the character in the sizzle reel. FYI - The child in the script is a girl and two African American protagonists are biracial. This is NOT the official trailer!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR and a brief update on January!!!

 So everybody I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year 🎆🎊🎈 and give you all a brief update on next year!!!! 

Through Stage 32 I was able to send Jenean Jeffries of Paramount + and Showtime fame my script and series Bible!!! Stage 32 said that they will set up a 30 minute phone call to discuss the script etc!!!

Also, on January 15 I am starting preproduction on HG3 so that we can shoot in March and have a finished product by Summer!!!! 

Finally, the trailer for HG2 will be shown on January 6th through Wildsound TV. They’re also making a trailer for HG3 to be shown on that day so even I will be surprised!!! The laurels are below.

NYC Filmmaker & Artist Holiday Mixer 2023

 So, Doug Schneider who is an actor-writer-filmmaker organized a networking event at Tito Murphy's in NYC. There was a beautiful actress (that I took a pic of) introduced me to him at the event which I rsvp through Facebook group so before last night I had never met him. I have his card plus photo with QR code for IMDb page below! My producer friend, Spock, hipped me to the event which was more of a party than a true networking. I had fun and met a lot of people but the only reason I say that it wasn't a true networking is because very few people had cards or networking contact information, so, I passed out the rest of my cards but got very few back. 

Something that was interesting about the event were the people who actually showed up!!! Andy Troy, who throws major rooftop parties in NYC and has a strong connection with the comedy circuit in the city, was one of the first people I spotted at the event. I actually snapped a pic of him, and we did shots of fireball before the night was over. I also met people who knew Spock's less illustrious past like radiant redhead, Monica C. Trombley, who is a freelance film producer and licensed attorney. 

Before I ran out of cards, I gave my final card to an actor from CT named Peter Rosapina! Everything for a reason, and Peter was a delight! I'll take a pic of his card and post it so if you're interested in casting an actor with his look in that area... He's your man!!!

My Interview With The SIFF About The Script THE CHOICE!!!

 I will make this short and provide a link to the interview. HB Gibson provided the promo pic that is seen in the interview as well as on an earlier post in this blog. The Swedes asked questions that seem to stem from cultural and religious differences/views that make me wonder if the comical nature of the script was overshadowed by the religious precedence... So, I'll leave it up to you (the reader) to see if my somewhat liberal religious view were conveyed clearly. Hopefully, this interview will spark interest in the script and some of the ideas it comically presented!

Update on Next Year!!!

 So, as previously stated, I have two projects that I will prepare for next year!!! The first will be my TV pilot which goes into preproduction on January 15th and is tentatively scheduled for production on March 11th! The other project is the feature The Choice which is slated for the fall!

The SIFF nomination for Best Director for Human Game 2 will reveal the winner in a few days so I’ll keep you posted!! They’re also posting the interview I did with them about The Choice soon so I’ll have even more info for you around then!!!

There’s one more networking event at the beginning of December that I’ll attend so pictures will be posted within two weeks.
