So, I have been waiting to hear back from agents since November and when the new year came I had to make a decision to keep plugging away. So, I kept in contact with the agents and manager whom I met via Zoom meetings in November while at the end of January I began to contest again primarily with the scripts The Choice and The Lepidopteran (The Lepi. for short). Below is a list of all the contests I entered since the end of January. Wish me luck!!!
Stage 32 Female Driven Contest - The Lepidopteran
Emerging Screenwriters - The Choice & The Lepidopteran
Big Apple Film Festival Sci-Fi Competition - The Lepi.
Kosice Int'l Film Festival - The Lepi.
Swedish Int'l Film Festival - The Choice
Fade in Awards Sci-Fi Competition - The Lepi.
Sundance Episodic - The P.A.C.T.
Screencraft Fellowship - The Choice
TSL Free Screenplay Competition - The Choice
Circle of Confusion Fellowship - HG3
Macroproject Film Festival - The Choice & The Lepidopteran
ISA Diversity Initiative - The Lepidopteran & The Choice
I wanted to enter more competitions but funds prevented it... I got bills!!! (LOL)!!!

These 4 are just cool!!!
This one is sort of weird! I love to look at the sky and see images in the clouds. I, recently, saw a five finger hand and to this day don’t know what it means? I often see eyes in the clouds ☁️ that look impressionistic like art but when I saw the hand ✋ something happened! So I have been taking pictures of the sky hoping for a repeat lol 😝
Here’s a few pictures of the sky (not of the hand (lol)) that I think are pretty!
Enjoy!
I wrote two books at the beginning of the millennia that saw a little success but never really took off. So, because they were prototypes for scripts, I rewrote them recently and individually entered them into competitions. I took one script from THE ZEN COOKBOOK AND OTHER BIZARRE SCREENPLAYS called One Man's Choice and modernized it. I renamed it, THE CHOICE, and entered it into The BAFF or Big Apple Film Festival. It won!
The other script called *BEEP* was a cross between the namesake stories of both THE ZEN COOKBOOK and BOY: A STORY BASED ON TRUE EVENTS. BOY was the actual story of what happened with I and my autistic brother before his death and THE ZEN COOKBOOK was a colorful yet existential script based on the same upbringing. *BEEP* won The SIFF (Swedish International Film Festival).
So, if you get the chance, please pick up a copy of these books. The links to Amazon are below!

Back in the early 2000s I created music for an tv/webisode series called Human Game! Even though the video won 🥇 some awards, the music didn’t get much acclaim. Here’s the video for the test version of the opening credits to the show and the trailer that both have original music!!
Enjoy!!!
I bought my cousin's book, and it was a fun/quick read!!! It took me one day to read and I am a slow reader! Full of pictures from her career and life in general, it was insightful as to why Black women go through such extremes to take care of their hair. It even gives a history of how Black hair was regarded and treated in Africa and the Americas with a bibliography to back her facts... she was a professor during her media career. It can be purchased on Amazon as a Kindle or paperback book!
Also, shortly after my zoom reading of THE LEPIDOPTERAN, I noticed some interesting hits on LinkedIn and other social media. Executives at HBO and NBC both checked out my profile on LinkedIn and the hit counter on this page jumped by 100 plus hits... HOORAY! I also got some pleasant inquires on Stage 32 from industry people who read the blog post that the site mailed out to its 750,000 subscribers!!! The agents that had access to the site and script said that they would check it out...
So, we push forward hoping for the best!

To see the zoom reading go to my profile on Stage 32 in the video section OR simply go below to see The Lepidopteran zoom reading… Thanks 🙏
This one was different!!! Instead of chapters the book was separated by 3 to 4 pages of perspective/thoughts from individual characters that progress the story! So you follow the story from the perspective of each character as it relates to the story.
The story is definitely from a millennial view in the way it relates to relationships and is intriguing because it is an unusual supernatural story! Based on werewolves with a vampire undertone leads the reader into the minds of supernatural characters from the elite to the minions!
The only real flaw is that there are no page numbers so you will need a bookmark or to earmark the pages!
Overall, the story was GREAT and the title was appropriate for the climax of this story leaving the reader wanting to see book two in the series!
I definitely recommend this one for lovers of supernatural characters and for careful readers who like nuance and vicious intrigue… you’ll enjoy this one!!! It is truly a different read!!!
First of all, I was shocked to find out that I had another cousin who was in the entertainment industry. Her name is Esther Dillard and she has worked in the media for close to 20 years even taking a stint as a professor for a while! Well, she’s taken time while working in the industry to write a book about natural hair in the media and what it means to express yourself and your beauty without denying your heritage!
Below is her author biography and link to her book!!! Be sure to check out her on kindle and in paperback!!!
Esther Dillard is a writer, anchor and reporter for the Black Information Network owned by iHeartMedia. She has also worked for more than 10 years in the television news business in a variety of markets including: WGRZ-TV 2 Buffalo, NY, CBS 3 Philadelphia, PA, KTVU San Francisco, CA and WEYI Flint, MI. Esther Dillard is also a wife, mother and lover of great storytelling in all mediums.
Last night I went to a reading at Newark Public Library of Griot Media’s play called Smoke!!! It’s about the current state of mental health issues within the medical community/system! It was raw and forward in its approach to race and the care people receive in hospital system!
Ralph and Zelda Patterson, the owners/producers of Griot Media, picked strong candidates for their reading with the director, Raven Patterson (no relation to Ralph or Zelda).
There was also a strong Q&A afterwards with many of the people who were from the medical field commenting on how they related to the characters!!!!
Below are some shots of the reading
On January 28th I will be having a zoom reading for the script The Lepidopteran from 8-10pm eastern time!!! One of the most important and convenient factors in this reading was the site Stage 32!!! (the link is in red) Almost all my actors/readers are on the site except for one!!! There’s over a dozen characters and we have about 8 actors!
If you’re interested in seeing the reading just email me nathanwaire@gmail.com especially if you are an agent or manager!!
I will be listing the actors shortly before the reading and I am planning to record the reading. It will be available on my blog, Stage 32, and YouTube!
Thanks for showing interest

I am so pleased to see another review of my book Boy on Amazon, so I cut and pasted it into this post!!! It was written by Heather who’s a professional in special education (and author as well)!!!
Enjoy and see it for yourself below and/or through the link here BOY: A Story Based On True Events
FYI - I wrote an award-winning script called *BEEP* based on this book. The script can be found on Coverfly.com

“This is more than just a story, it's real life. This book focuses on a struggling family, but the main characters are boy and man. As a professional in special education, I was intrigued by this book as boy is autistic. Not only that, but he seems to have had psychotic split personalities. Man also faces his own demons and proves to be a strong individual despite the hardships he was dealt in life. I highly recommend this book. “- Heather
So it took me a month but I finally finished the rewrite of my science fiction script The Lepidopteran!!!! Planning on doing a reading at the end of January or beginning of February!!! Still need to get some more readers for the zoom but it’ll be fine!
FYI-They say that what you do on the first day of the year is hopefully what you will be doing for the next year… Here’s to a Good start!!!

Firstly, I would like to thank and say that I am extremely grateful for all those that supported SAPIEN FILMS throughout the year! Throughout all the readings and contests… some of which bore fruit and those that didn’t! I appreciate you all for your support and time!
Next, I’d like to thank all my new colleagues who are making the promise of next year look so good!!! A special shout out to the agents and managers who said they would take a look at my work in the new year… HOORAY!!!
Then there’s those people who were just kind to me… Every little bit kept me going and gave me hope for my fellow humans (no matter how they looked or what they represented).
Finally, I like to thank my family (both fictive and real) for showing me LOVE and teaching me that GOD has no limits… It is us who must have Faith and be willing to step out on it!!!
This New Year let’s push forward in the ways that the Universe wants!!! E., Spock, HB, Craig, Courtney, Billy, Bones, and the rest of “Star Trek” past and present… Thank you so much and let’s boldly go where none of us have gone before!!!
Peace ✌️ and Blessings!!!
